Don’t be surprised if a bike whizzes by while you’re skiing at

Winter Park, Colo., this season. As part of a snow bike-assisted learn-to-ski program, beginning skiers don short skis and sit on a bike-like frame with handlebars, a seat and skis in place of tires. With the bike frame supporting them, never-evers can feel the sensation of gliding and making parallel turns. A progression sequence moves from drills on the bike to skiing without it. Thrill-seekers who want to skip the lesson and play on a snow bike can take a guided tour. Lessons and tours (both offered daily) can be booked through the Guest Contact Center. 800-729-7907; skiwinterpark.com
