The Alltrack sports a slightly different name but it excelled-again-by playing its “fit first” card. It’s a perfect out-of-box match with the average-volume foot and perfectly sculpted curves for the forefoot, navicular, ankles and heels. Testers loved the well-padded and progressive flex feel against the shin-often a deal-breaker fit area. That flex is the key to the all-mountain power moves that are the Alltrack Pro’s hallmark. Testers said they could drive this one anywhere on the hill and operate in the upper 90th percentile. Its hike mode is not its headline draw. It’s more of a convenience feature, less designed for long tours. And testers had to flex the boot firmly to get the Posi-Block set where they wanted it. But this year’s version comes stock with a set of Walk-to-Ride (WTR) soles. Regular alpine soles are included as well. Many of our testers say the rockered toe makes walking easier than any hike mode ever can.
