The G2 FR 110 H is snug-pretty much everywhere-with a traditional ramp and forward lean angle. It lacks features and frills and is much stiffer and stronger than its 110 flex index suggests but skilled pilots will appreciate the immediate feedback underfoot. It should appear on the short list for low-volume, skinny heel folk with neutral stance preferences-and good skiing skills. Testers said this boot was as strong as any of the 120’s we tested while not being super demanding. They don’t have anything against the feature-full, upright and cuff-releasing crowd of boots populating the rack these days, but they just know how to appreciate a simple, elegant boot that does what a boot should do (ski, goddammit.). True, there is no cuff adjuster, and that is probably a legitimate gripe, but padding a liner and planing a boot for cant will get most alignment-challenged where they need to be. There’s a rockered, grippy outsole toe and heel plate available in addition to the alpine-DIN compatible set of soles.

Behind the Scenes of Our 2023 SKI Test

Testing skis and winter gear is hard work (just ask our boot testers)—but someone's gotta do it.
