Whether you’re tired of your grandma asking what you want for the holidays or you feel the need to get out of your Gore-Tex and into something nice before heading out for date night (trust us, you do), here are some options to help you clean up once the ski day is finished.
Boulder Denim 3.0 Jeans

Made with a lot more than organic cotton—Coolmax polyester for breathability, Cordura for durability, and Boulder Denim’s proprietary 360-degree Extreme Diagonal Stretch (EDS) technology for stretch—the Boulder Denim 3.0 jeans are designed to look good while staying active. These jeans might be some of the most comfortable we’ve tried on, so much so they work well for bouldering and cruiser bike rides, but they still look good for mountain town date nights. If you’re getting one pair of jeans this year, put these on the top of your list. [$138, Available for pre-order on BoulderDenim.com]
Stio Eddy Shirt

This is the greatest shirt ever made. Why? Well, besides the great fit and pearl snaps, it’s made out of moisture-wicking Conflux nylon/polyester blended fabric that’s also wind- and water-resistant and rated for up to UPF 50+ sun protection. You can ski tour in it, go to a nice dinner, and boogie at the club, all in the same day. [$129, stio.com]
Helly Hansen Hyggen Light Hoodie

Norwegian brand Helly Hansen’s entire Fjord Til Fjell line could be on this list, but this lightweight knit hoodie might be our favorite item in the collection. Made from super soft—and 100 percent Bluesign approved—polyester fabric, there’s a good chance that once you put it on, you’ll never take it off. It also pairs well with the Lifaloft insulated flannel shirt and Movatn Wool Vest when you’re ready for layers. [$85, BUY NOW]

DUER Stay Dry Denim Jeans

Jeans are just jeans unless they are stretch and water-resistant, right? That’s exactly what the DUER Stay Dry denim jeans are. Using a blend of cotton, Coolmax Polyester, and Lycra, these pants are super comfy and move with you, and they have an environmentally-friendly, biodegradable DWR treatment to protect against winter snows, coffee drips, and après cocktail spills. These jeans raise the bar for denim everywhere. [$139, shopduer.com]

Three Great Shackets
Too warm to be shirts, but not quite jackets, these are three of our favorite midlayer options for guys who want to keep it classy at all times.
The Big Spender: Fisher + Baker Birmingham CPO Jacket

Photo courtesy of Fisher + Baker
Lots of brands are making great-looking insulated shirts, but the Birmingham CPO checks all the boxes for everything you want in a shacket. Made with Schoeller Water Resistant Wool with a c_Change Membrane plus Primaloft Gold Insulation and an Ultrasuede Trim, the technical features are as good as they get. But what really sets the Birmingham CPO apart is the great cut, trendy colors, and perfectly placed pockets. It would work as a midlayer in a pinch, but it looks so good, there’s no sense in covering it up with a shell. [$448, fisherandbaker.com]
Best Deal: Dakota Grizzly Post

Simple but effective, the Dakota Grizzly Post Jacket’s quilted lining is warmer than expected, while its color is subtle but not so boring it will go unnoticed during après. The suede collar feels great on the neck, and the price is easy to handle too. [$98, dakotagrizzly.com]

The Lightweight: Backcountry Rockport Seawool Flannel

The thinnest shacket on this list, the Rockport is made without insulation, however, the Seawool—fabric made from used oyster shells from the food industry combined with recycled plastic bottles taken out of the ocean and upcycled cotton—packs a serious heat punch. It looks great on its own and can be worn as a light midlayer as well. The best part? The Seawool is naturally odor-resistant, meaning it can go a while between washes. [$100, BUY NOW]

Two Footwear Options
We know your ski boots are expensive. If only they were comfortable enough to wear to the club, too. Until then, wear these wherever you’re not skiing.
Around Town: Arbor Venice Slip-On

Made with recycled Regrind Rubber soles, these slip-on kicks from the snowboard brand Arbor are perfect to slide into after a day of skiing when there’s not a lot of snow on the ground. The company also used recycled polyester for the uppers and locally sourced as many materials as possible to make sure these shoes leave small carbon footprints. But, perhaps most importantly, they’re a good look for any occasion. [From $69, BUY NOW]
Mud Season: Adidas Terrex Skychaser XT Mid GT

If you consider yourself more of an “outdoor cat” when it comes to where you want to be seen when not skiing, the Adidas Terrex Skychaser XT Mid GT is an option that looks good, keeps your feet dry, and makes sure you keep your shoes rubber-side-down. Made with a Gore-Tex Midsole and Continental rubber outsoles, you can walk confidently in the outdoors knowing your feet fit the part and are definitely not going to get wet in case you step in a puddle. We especially appreciate the easy-to-use lace system. [$225, adidas.com]

Arcade Belts Ranger
If you haven’t used an Arcade Belt yet, you’re missing out. Low profile, stretchy belts that don’t use any metal at all make for perfect pant retention, plus there’s no need to remove it at airport security. We especially appreciate the subtleness of the Ranger for both on- and off-hill pursuits, as the mellow colorway options are appropriate for big sends and date night alike. Exhibitionists looking for more expression in the belt will be happy to know that Arcade still makes some pretty loud prints, too. [From $26; BUY NOW]
SAXX Vibe Boxer Briefs

Step up your underwear game with some of the best. SAXX now has fresh new patterns and prints in their Vibe collection. From camo to surfing Santas, there’s certainly something for everyone. And they are all made with super soft materials and feature the brand’s famous BallPark Pouch, which means there’s a good chance you’ll keep wearing these undies well past the holidays. J Skis “High DINs Low Standards” Whiskey Glass

While we’re big fans of the planks made by J Skis, we have to admit their accessories might be the best made by a ski company. Our favorite item is this whiskey glass, which goes best with a double pour on the rocks. Looking for something to fill it with, too? Go big with WhistlePig or keep it real with TINCUP. [$12 (whiskey not included); jskis.com]
Loma Wax Co. Beard Oil

When it’s really, really cold outside, but you don’t want to hide your impressive beard with a scarf or whatever, we recommend slathering on some beard oil before heading out for a night in a mountain town. Not only will you smell better, but the oil helps retain some heat to keep your face warm. Loma Wax Co., out of Grand Junction, Colo., happens to make the best-smelling stuff around. So, if you’re like every dude in the Rocky Mountain West and have a beard, put yourself above everyone and get some oil on that face bush. $15; lomawacocompany.com]
