A liner makeover took this boot from solid positioning at last year’s test to one of the top faves this go-round. The tongue has grown slightly taller and is more deeply padded. The liner toe box’s stretchy Lycra material now extends a little further rearward, opening up the toe box and moving the seam away from the sensitive little piggy toe area. The internal padding has been thickened a touch throughout for a fuller, more enveloped feel around the foot. The 105 flex is solid, so having a cushioned tongue with which to engage the transmission was one of the reasons for our testers’ newfound admiration. The stance was neutral side-to-side according to the team and the single cuff adjuster was adequate for fine tuning. Credit the Quick Instep co-molded area at the shell overlap for its easy on/off nature. Tester Comments: “Felt great, powerful and stable, agile and quick—this boot is awesome. I would buy it.” “Stable boot—offers a true flex of 105—it charges!”
