Simply put, the Völkl Vertigo G30 has changed the Freerider category. It used to be that skiers with a love for the backcountry and big pow had to forsake their passion for the frontside, because one ski couldn’t excel in both places. The G30 puts the lie to that assumption. What most testers loved, in fact, were the sweet, long, high-speed arcs the G30 laid down when corduroy and hardpack were the only options. And in glades? The G30 becomes an attack helicopter, floating aggressively through powder, crud and stumps. It’s smooth, substantial and solid, with a light touch that appealed to our women testers.
