Apparently Gibson Guitars appreciates the connection between ripping and rocking. It has partnered with Volkl and Marker to produce two special-edition guitars, with proceeds from the sale of these potential collectors’ items going to twoworthy charities. The Volkl guitar is a version of Gibson’s venerable Les Paul with graphic elements from the Gotama twin-tip fat ski. The Marker is a Gibson Flying V with Marker’s “Rule the Mountain” logo on it. Proceeds from the sale of the Volkl Les Paul will go to Protect Our Winters, the environmental initiative of snowboard legend Jeremy Jones. Sales of the Marker Flying V will benefit the family of the late Shane McConkey.
