Canada’s Nicolas Fontaine beat Gritjin of Belarus to win the mogul competition of Sunday’s freestyle World Cup event.Piancavallo, Italy, Feb. 27 (AP)–Canada’s Nicolas Fontaine edged Alexei Gritjin of Belarus in the mogul competition of the World Cup freestyle skiing event Sunday.
Fontaine was awarded the victory after he and Gritjin both finished with 376 points.
American Joe Pack finished third with 360 points.
Australia’s Jacqui Cooper cruised to victory in the women’s mogul competition, a day after notching her fourth victory of the season in the aerials.
Cooper had 400 points, finishing ahead of Canada’s Veronica Brenner and Norway’s Hilde Synnove Lid.
