You just can’t please ‘em all. Readers slam the 80-year-old resort on Service, On-Mountain Food, Dining , Après , and Lodging. (Really!? You’d like a five-story hotel at the back of Big Cottonwood Canyon?) But in the same breath they gush like snow bros on a powder day about how much they dig the place. “I love the Brighton vibe.” “You’re part of the family when you’re skiing here.” Such is the conundrum of being old-school in a new-school world. They love you for all the things that are otherwise being paved over, knocked down, and folded into the corporate portfolio and hate you because your sheets’ thread count is too low. Well, Brighton reckons you’ll just have to deal as it once again earns your loyalty for Value, Accessibility, and being awesome for kids and families. So sit down, eat your burger, and zip it, slick. Here’s one more thing for you: Snow. You did come here to ski, right?

Kids 10 and under ski free. Yep, you read that right. Oh, also, the Brighton Bone Zone, a free pre-season terrain park, will be open again before the lifts start turning.

Molly Green’s is as ambiguously Irish as ever but always to be counted upon for a pitcher of cold beer and a pile of nachos as high as your head.
