Wasatch Powderbird Guides is based at a roadside heliport in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon, between Alta and Snowbird ski resorts. A typical day of heliskiing or riding includes seven runs and about 15,000 vertical feet. The season runs mid-December through mid-April. Rates: $630 per person during low season; $770 during peak season (mid-January to late March). Some discounted seats ($525/$665) are also available. Extra runs: $75 each.

Equipment A-Star B3 helicopter

Lodging A variety of accommodations are available at nearby Alta or Snowbird, and WPG offers shuttle service. Guests can also stay in Salt Lake City, Big Cottonwood Canyon or Park City, all within an hour’s drive.
