These four ski areas are suing Parks Canada over new directives that would put a cap on daily skier capacity, restrict future expansion and curtail summer sightseeing on chairlifts. A parade of conservation groups, including the Alberta Wilderness Association, Bow Valley Naturalists and UTSB Research, contend that skiing, which has been a 70-year tradition here, is an inappropriate use of federal park lands.
