Kicking what? Most skiers either haven’t heard of Kicking Horse, or have no idea where it is. That’s bound to change as this resort makes a name for itself on the Freeride World Tour. (It hosted its first comp last season.)
The expert and extreme terrain is out of this world, with several in-bounds, hike-to zones that will make your stomach drop just peering down from above. You come here to scare yourself, so be prepared to do just that. The lift-served skiing isn’t too shabby, either, with enough black and double-black lines to warm you up for the good stuff.
WHAT’S NEW
An expansion into Rudi’s Bowl at Kicking Horse adds 660 acres of intermediate bowl skiing to the resort’s portfolio, increasing the already impressive vert to 4,460 and adding some much-needed blue terrain.
