Ski Resorts Environmental Achievements Recognized

Palm Springs, CA, May 10, 2001–Mountain Sports Media, publishers of SKI, SKIING and FREEZE magazines, Warren Miller Entertainment and SkiNet presented the annual Golden Eagle Awards to the ski resorts that achieved environmental excellence over the past year. The awards, established in 1993 by Mountain Sports Media, were presented at the National Ski Area Association’s convention in Palm Springs, CA to recognize the positive environmental efforts of ski areas. Twenty-six resorts participated in this year’s Golden Eagle Awards program.

Whitney Tilt, Conservation Policies Director of National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

Michael Berry, Executive Director of National Ski Area Association (NSAA)
Jerry Blann, chairman of NSAA Environmental Committee
Jack Zehren, Zehren & Associates
Andy Bigford, editor-in-chief, SKI magazine
Rick Kahl, editor-in-chief, SKIING magazine
