Dec. 13, 2001–This weekend Squaw Valley USA is hosting two events for charity. On Saturday, Dec. 15 Squaw will donate 20% of lift ticket sales to non-profits and on Sunday Dec. 16 the resort will give people who pre-purchased $20 lift ticket vouchers an all day ski pass in order to benefit local schools.

The proceeds from the weekend’s events will help nationwide charities and local non-profits. The American Red Cross and the Tahoe Forest Hospital will each receive 10% of Saturday’s lift ticket sales. Many local retailers will also help out. Olympic Plaza Food and Beverage and Mother Barclays both plan to contribute.

As for Sunday, Squaw is hosting the annual “ski and skate,” which benefits local schools through the Excellence in Education Foundation. Skiers can pre-purchase vouchers at local Porters’ stores and some Bank of the West locations. Since 1990 the Foundation has received over $150,000 dollars from Squaw.
