SKI Magazine’s humorous sketch video series, “The Snow Report with Halley O’Brien,” has two episodes in contention at the Heartland Regional Emmy® Competition. The news has been well-received by everyone who poured heart and soul into the three-year-old series’ production.
“It’s both exciting and an honor to see The Snow Report Show recognized for its storytelling, nominated alongside so many other talented broadcasters, journalists, on-camera personalities, and other programming,” says Halley O’Brien, creator and host of The Snow Report Show.
The Snow Report’s approachable content, as well as its impressive roster of partner ski resorts throughout North America, helps tell the story of skiing and snowboarding to a broader audience.
“The Snow Report was designed to get people talking about snowsports whether they ski 5 days or 50 days that season. By using relatable humor to discuss what’s trending throughout winter sports, we can entertain and connect to more than just the core skier and rider. We don’t take winter seriously, and we like it that way,” Halley explains.
With 16 episodes on SKIMag.com slated for the 2017-18 ski season, SKI Magazine and Halley O’Brien Productions look forward to building on the show’s successes.
Halley writes, hosts, and produces The Snow Report and comes from a heralded career in the snowsports and resorts business. These are the first Emmy® Nominations for The Snow Report, which launched in fall of 2015. The show has become a viral sensation, reaching 8.4 million people in its debut season. In 2016, The Snow Report was also recognized as an IMAG Imagination Award finalist in the digital category, and was named a finalist by the National Ski Areas Association for Best Use of Video.
The Heartland Regional Emmy® Gala will be held July 15, in Denver. Stay tuned for an update after the awards show. The two nominated episodes, “Gear and Beer” and “Avalanche Cats at Copper Mountain,” can be viewed here.
