Get out your twin-tips and temporary tattoos: The X Games are hitting Aspen, Colorado again, January 22-25, 2009. This year, skip the snowmobiles for the demolition derby of Skier X (a.k.a. skiercross) – four to six skiers simultaneously careening down a motocross-like course of rollers, bumps, banks, and ridges.

The International Olympic Committee recently announced that the sport will be included in the 2010 Winter Games in Whistler, B.C.

Retired World Cup ace Daron Rahlves hopes to repeat as Skier X champion and also make the U.S. Olympic team. As a 35-year-old competitor, Rahlves gets our support – and our Advil.
