Denver, CO (American Cancer Society Press Release)—Combine your passion for powder and desire to eliminate cancer at the third annual Vertical Rally at Loveland Ski Area, February 23, 2008.

It is estimated that more than 19,000 people in Colorado have been diagnosed with cancer in 2007. In its mission to help eliminate this statistic, The American Caner Society Vertical Rally will raise money for cancer research, education, patient services and advocacy.

The Vertical Rally is a team and individual skiing/snowboarding event where participants engage in a virtual competition with other participants in two categories: Dollars Raised and Vertical Feet, where participants raise money through pledges and donations.

The goal of the Vertical Rally is to not only have fun on the mountain, but also to raise funds and awareness for the programs and services of the American Cancer Society, the largest not-for-profit funding of cancer research in the United States.

To participate, log on to www.lovelandverticalrally.org where you can form or join a team and find out more information. Or contact Sean Humphrey (720) 264-2942.

For American Cancer Society information, contact Jessie Trimmer at 1-800-ACS-2345 or www.cancer.org.
