Telluride, CO, July 10–American Airlines will begin flights to southwestern Colorado, with flights to Montrose, CO, 65 miles from Telluride Ski Resort. American will run daily non-stop service with Super-80 jets from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), from Dec. 16, 2000-Mar. 31, 2001.
Skiers bound from Telluride will now be able to fly via five major hub cities and four airlines: American from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Continental from Houston (IAH) and Newark (EWR), United from Denver (DIA), and America West from Phoenix (PHX).
“Convenient, reliable transportation is an important aspect of any vacation, and we’re aiming to facilitate travel for all of our guests, coast to coast,” said Steve Swenson, of Telluride’s marketing department.
United Airlines has also expanded flights to ski country, specifically Big Sky Resort, in Montana. This November, the carrier will begin three non-stop flights daily from Denver (DIA) to Bozeman, MT (BZN).
In addition, Bozeman has daily flights via Delta, Horizon, Northwest, and Big Sky airlines.
