Last year’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, may have had the worst skiing scene ever. But Hollywood doesn’t always blow it. From the offices of ski filmmakers Teton Gravity Research, a look at the three best and worst skiing scenes.
BEST: Hot Dog: Squirrel gets a hummer in the gondola while smearing zinc oxide all over his face. Ski Patrol: Iceman and Stanley are at the top of Hole in the Wall. Iceman: “Shooting Hole in the Wall is just like making love.” Stanley: “I’ve never made love before.” Aspen Extreme: Scot Schmidt skis the ice fall-epic for its time. WORST:Ski Patrol: Ellen’s binding gets caught on Suicide’s ski sailboard. Kramer radios for a grappling-hook launcher. Aspen Extreme: Dexter releases T.J.’s bindings in a crevasse that looks like a hot tub. Superman 3: Gus Gorman skis off his skyscraper, stomps the landing.
