Georgetown, CO, Nov. 8, 2001–Bode Miller and Erik Schlopyalong with other members of the US Ski Team will be training at Loveland Ski Area on Friday, November 9, 2001 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Joining Miller and Schlopy will be Chad Fleischer, Sacha Gros, Casey Puckett, Dane Spencer and Thomas Vonn. With the 2002 Olympic games nearing, time on the snow becomes ever more valuable and Loveland Ski Area is proud to host this early season sneak peek of what we can expect from our world-class athletes at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Bode Miller, a 1998 Olympian, is enjoying his sixth year on the team, andhas posted four World Cup GS top tens in 2001. Erik Schlopy, in hisseventh year, holds five U.S. Titles and was third overall in GSstandings in 2001. Schlopy, on his second trip to the Olympics, is a US favorite for a medal after enjoying the best season by an American male in the World Cup giant slalom since 1983.

Loveland Ski Area is also proud to be hosting the first US event of the 2002 Olympic alpine racing season, which kicks off Nov. 15-19, 2001 with the Nature Valley Alpine Cup at Loveland Valley. More than 200 of the world’s best skiers will go through their final World Cup tune-ups as they chase $22,000 in prize money. Also, watch for Americans hoping to secure spots on the U.S. Olympic Ski Team by doing well at the event.
