Denver, Colo., July 15, 2002 (CSCUSA Release)–The Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) Board of Trustees has named Rob Perlman president and CEO. Rob joins CSCUSA from Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in California where he served as executive director of marketing and sales.
Rob Perlman, a Colorado native, returns to his home state after fours years at Mammoth. Rob’s inventive and youthful marketing programs have been key to reinvigorating Mammoth’s image and appeal. Between 1998 and 2002, Rob’s initiatives saw season pass sales increase from $2 million in revenue to $10 million in revenue. Due to his impressive work at Mammoth, Rob was awarded the 2002 Future Leadership Award (SAMMY) from Ski Area Management. He was also the winner of four National Ski Areas Association national awards for best marketing and sales campaigns (one in 2002, two in 2001 and one in 2000). Before his time at Mammoth, Rob worked in the marketing department at Vail Resorts where he developed and implemented marketing programs designed to entice new international and Colorado visitors to Vail and Beaver Creek. Rob also spent time at Winter Park in the communications department.
“The Board of Colorado Ski Country USA is delighted to have found a new leader for our association. Rob has a proven track record and is a great talent who is ready for the opportunity to keep the energy going in Colorado that has been built over the last couple of years,” said Pat O’Donnell, president of Aspen Skiing Company and board chairman for CSCUSA.
“Colorado has always been home for me and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to the nation’s capital of skiing and represent our 24 resorts,” said Rob Perlman. “I have always kept a close eye on what Colorado Ski Country was doing so I am happy to have the chance to continue and gain momentum with the great team I am about to join.”
Rob grew up in Evergreen, Colo. and graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Business Administration. Rob will be relocating to the Denver area with his wife Erin and daughters Amanda and Morgan in August.
Colorado Ski Country USA is the trade association for Colorado’s 24 ski and snowboard resorts.
