Dybvig 2nd at Mt. Tremblant Moguls

Mt. Tremblant, Quebec, Jan. 16, 2001–U.S. Freestyle Team skier Evan Dybvig (Tunbridge, VT) continued his strong recent performances with a second place showing Friday at a World Cup moguls event at Mt. Tremblant. World Cup points leader Janne Lahtela of Finland won while his female counterpart Kari Traa of Norway won on the women’s side.

Lahtela topped the competition with a score of 27.85. Dybvig, who finished second last weekend at the Deer Valley, Utah World Cup,trailed Lahtela with a score of 27.74 and France’s Cedric Regnier-Lafforgue was third with a 26.70. Ryan Riley (Steamboat Springs,CO) placed fifth with a 25.97

Traa, who also leads the tour standings, had a winning score of 25.68. Canadian Jennifer Heil was second (25.58) and AustrianMargarita Marbler was third (24.80). The top American woman was Jillian Vogtli (Park City, UT) in 11th with a score of 23.61.

The Mt. Tremblant World Cup continued Saturday with the season’s fourth aerials competition.
