Snowbird, UT

Plans to build a mountaintop lodge and restaurant at the summit of Hidden Peak, currently used for the top terminal of the Snowbird Tram, are running into opposition from Save Our Canyons, which has staged a running battle against the ski area during its 28 years of existence. Other groups fighting proposed expansion in Little Cottonwood Canyon include the local chapter of the Sierra Club and the Wasatch Mountain Club. These and additional plans are under review by the U.S. Forest Service.
