Squaw Valley USA
– For the second year, Squaw Valley USA is offering a season pass for dogs, cats and other pets to raise money for Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe and Squaw Valley Avalanche Dog Rescue. Reflective of Squaw Valley’s pet-friendly atmosphere, the Pet Pass is a great way for Squaw enthusiasts to integrate their pets into their summer adventures and support worthy animal non-profit organizations.
Pet owners can bring their critter to Squaw Valley’s Special Tickets office to have the pet’s picture taken and printed on his or her very own Squaw season pass. The passes are $25 and the proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe and Squaw Valley Avalanche Dog Rescue. Also, all Squaw pet passholders receive 10% off dog and cat treats at Tails by the Lake in the Village at Squaw and 10% off dog and cat accessories at High Camp Bath & Tennis Sport Shop and The North Face.
From The Village at Squaw to the hiking trails and the Cable Car, Squaw Valley offers a dog-friendly environment from top to bottom. Squaw Valley’s hiking trails are dog-friendly and in summer, leashed dogs and obedient pets (parrots, cats, ferrets, etc.) are welcome on the Cable Car. By riding the Cable Car to el. 8200′, hikers and their dogs can access the beautiful views from Squaw’s upper mountain peaks without a long ascent.
After an invigorating hike, pets can be rewarded with a visit to Tails by the Lake, a dog and cat specialty shop in The Village at Squaw. Owners receive 10% off dog and cat treats when they show their Squaw Pet Pass at Tails by the Lake. Tails by the Lake is now providing Dog Walking, In Home Visits, and other licensed, bonded, and insured dog services. Shop owners Lori Dotterweich and Robert Burks have received the Pet Product News Retailer of the Year award for their top performance in customer service, community service, and merchandising.
