Stamford, CT – February 23, 2005

– OLN’s Winter Gravity Games presented by Saturn is thrilled to announce that Jurassic 5 will headline a free concert on Saturday, March 5th, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at the base of Copper Mountain, CO. Rock’s latest noisemaker, The Walkmen, will open up the show from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. The Winter Gravity Games will air exclusively on OLN March 27th – 30th.

“OLN is excited to bring these great bands to the event. Jurassic 5 and The Walkmen are a terrific addition to the competitions, demos and party scene at Copper Mountain,” said Brad Friedrich, OLN’s Vice President of Business Development. “The fusion of hip hop and live rock complement the lifestyle of our event, one that will captivate Winter Gravity Games fans from start to finish.”

Jurassic 5 (J5), MCs Chali 2na, Zaakir (Soup), Akil, Marc 7 and DJs Cut Chemist and Nu-Mark, conjure an energy that recalls a throwback era in hip hop, when the only thing that seemed to matter was the music and having fun. Following a successful album is never easy, no matter what the style of music. On their second full-length album,

Power in Numbers

, J5 prove up to the task of answering one remarkable album – their first,

Quality Control

– with another. J5 is currently finishing up their third full-length album that is scheduled for release at the end of the summer.

The Walkmen have been described as having the sound of two different bands: one with a chaotic, soaring and unique live rock sound; and another with a spacious, wide-open recorded sound. On Bows and Arrows (Record Collection), the band’s highly anticipated second album, the two styles gloriously collide. Self-assured and more fully realized, The Walkmen are growing into one of the most exciting bands out there today. Louder and more chaotic, Bows and Arrows is a diverse and dynamic record that reflects the experience of the five members playing together as it hints at their next steps in the future.

OLN’s Winter Gravity Games, airing on OLN March 27th from 9:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. ET and March 28th – 30th from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, will feature 11 medal events, including: Men’s and Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe, Boardercross, Snowboard Slopestyle, Ski Halfpipe, and Skiercross, as well as Men’s Ski Slopestyle.

The 2005 Winter Gravity Games will include world-class competition, a festival village featuring Gravity Games sponsors and partners, and family-oriented interactive areas. Admission to the Winter Gravity Games will be free of charge. OLN’s Winter Gravity Games is sponsored by Saturn, Yamaha Motor Company, Champion, Edge Advanced Gel and Snickers.

Winter Gravity Games is a major extension of the franchise, following the 2004 Gravity Games, which were held in Cleveland, OH from Sept 15th – 19th. The event featured 121 athletes and more than 125,000 fans in attendance. OLN televised extensive coverage of the four-day event.
