STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO—The Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and United Airlines have teamed up to offer an exclusive nationwide Kids Fly FREE* Program from any city served by United/United Express in the United States & Canada into the Yampa Valley Regional Airport for the 2005/06 winter season.
“Steamboat is the #1 Family Resort in the West, as ranked by Ski Magazine readers, and was the first ski resort in the country to offer Kids Fly FREE four years ago – again, setting the standard in the industry much like it did with Kids Ski FREE, said Andy Wirth, vice president of marketing & sales for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “United’s program enables families to take advantage of the most conveniently accessed ski resort in Colorado while at the same time enjoying significant savings, incredible Champagne Powder snow and convenient air service directly into Steamboat.
This season with Steamboat’s exclusive Kids Fly FREE* Package, when a parent purchases a minimum two nights lodging, lift tickets and round-trip air on United Airlines, one child (12 & under) flies FREE*. The package is available from November 29-December 22, 2005 and then again from January 2-February 16, 2006, with travel into Steamboat/Hayden Sunday-Thursday and out of Steamboat/Hayden from Monday-Friday. This package is subject to availability and not available on all flights. The Kids Fly FREE* offer on United Airlines is available for booking through Steamboat Central Reservations® at 1-800-922-2722 or online at www.steamboat.com and can be combined with other Steamboat Central Reservations special packages.
United Airlines, which has provided nonstop service into Steamboat since 1992, will operate one 737 nonstop daily jet, and five daily Dash-8 turboprop flights from Denver into the Yampa Valley Regional Airport. United Airlines service is available for the entire 2005-06 winter season, November 24, 2005 through April 9, 2006. This service provides convenient one-stop connections from cities across the country.

Steamboat/Hayden (HDN) Airport, which has begun construction of Phase II of a 5-year, $17.6 million improvement project, is just 22 miles/35kms from downtown Steamboat. First and last impressions of the airport were greatly enhanced as Phase I of the Yampa Valley Regional Airport’s three-phase improvement plan was recently completed, which included a 4,300-square-foot ticket counter expansion and a new and updated exterior appearance. Phase II and Phase III will include: expanded gate areas, a new ticketing wing, curbside check-in, road realignment, parking lot upgrades, a new jet apron and deicing pad, and remodeled passenger and baggage claim areas.
