KILLINGTON, Vt. (March 25, 2003) — With nearly 260″ of natural snow to date this season and a season-long commitment from the most extensive snowmaking system in North America, spring skiing and riding at Killington is no joke. In fact, to showcase one of the longest seasons in the country, Killington will celebrate April Fool’s Day by offering up to three free lift tickets with the purchase of one, full-day adult ticket. Participants must preregister and prepurchase the ticket at the resort’s website, killington.com and must also provide the names of those receiving the free lift tickets, which must be used on Tuesday, April 1.

“Given the amount of natural snow we’ve had this season, and the output of our massive snowmaking system, we’ll probably be skiing and snowboarding right into June,” said Killington Vice-President of Marketing and Sales Gillis Lynn. “This is simply an effort to show folks what spring skiing and riding is all about at Killington. Longer days, warmer sun and softer snow, deck parties, events-it’s really our favorite time of year.”

Killington typically opens in mid-October and offers skiing and riding through Memorial Day and oftentimes into June, posting the longest season in eastern North America each year. The special No Foolin’ offer is good at Killington and Mount Snow in Vermont, as well as the other resorts of the American Skiing Company: Attitash/Bear Peak in New Hampshire; Sunday River and Sugarloaf USA in Maine; The Canyons in Utah; and Steamboat in Colorado.

Guests must preregister and prepurchase the 4 for 1 deal online at any of the resort’s websites, or at The American Skiing Company’s website, peaks.com. All Killington tickets must be picked up at The Snowshed Resort Center, inside the Snowshed Base Lodge.

“While many resorts start shutting things down after April 1, we’re just kicking into high gear here at Killington,” said Lynn. “Along with cleaning and baseball’s spring training, skiing and Killington are an automatic spring connection.”

Killington is part of American Skiing Company (OTC: AESK), one of the largest four-season mountain resort operators in the United States. The resorts include Mount Snow, Vermont; Sugarloaf/USA and Sunday River, Maine; Attitash Bear Peak, New Hampshire; Steamboat, Colorado; and The Canyons, Utah. More information is available on the company’s website, killington.com.
