Nor'easter Slams New England

Mount Snow, VT, Jan. 26, 2000–Yesterday, a winter nor’easter crushed the northeast with up to two feet of snow from the Carolinas to Vermont and continued northbound through the night. While the snowy weather hindered travel, eastern ski resorts opened their arms and welcomed Mother Nature’s gift. Ski resorts along the coast have opened up more terrain while the conditions keep getting better.
Look out New England, here it comes! Resorts from the east report that 12-14 inches of the fluff has fallen since Tuesday morning. As a northeastern storm settles in Wednesday, Hunter Mountain has opened four more trails allowing skiers to use 52 of their 53 trails.
Up north in Vermont, over a foot of new snow has piled up on Mount Snow Resort allowing access to all 100 trails, and it’s still snowing!
Gore Mountain Ski Area, NY woke up to eight inches of new snow this morning and the forecast calls for 2-4 inches more today. Gore’s base stands between 12 -42 inches with over 41 open trails.
