Unable to get rid of our old straight skis on unsuspecting yard-sale goons (even in the free pile), the staff at
Skiing
began to wonder: How hard would it be to make unwanted boards go away in New York City? To find out, we enlisted the help of a professional videographer (read: a friend on vacation). His assignment? Put the skis in a high-traffic spot, grab a park bench, and record. The location is Tompkins Square Park, Manhattan. The skis lasted twenty minutes. And no—what you’re about to see was not staged.
