Baltimore, MD (March 13, 2008)
– 180s is pleased to announce that freestyle skier and Team 180s athlete Patrick Deneen has been named Rookie of the Year on the World Cup Freestyle Mogul Circuit.
Selected by representatives from all competing World Cup nations, Deneen will be one of only 24 skiers to compete in the World Cup Finals in Valmalenco, Italy. Patrick’s breakout season this year has included numerous podium finishes on both the NORAM and World Cup Circuits and now finds the top American Freestyle Skier ranked 5th overall worldwide. Deneen was also recently elevated to the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team’s “A” Team capping an incredible year for the 20-year old Cle Elum, Washington native.
“His ascent may seem like a meteoric rise to some but we know how hard Patrick has worked to get where he is now. It is truly a lifetime achievement and we at 180s are so proud of Patrick and his accomplishments,” said Keith Scully, 180s Director of Marketing.
Deneen was reared in the shadows of what has become Snoqualmie Ski Resort and was first placed on skis when he was only eleven months old. As he grew Patrick became a top junior alpine racer (J4 and J5) but was enamored with the freestyle discipline from the moment it caught his eye and eventually made the switch to follow his passion.
Some of Deneen’s other sponsors include Hart Skis, Look, Lange and Shred. For more information on Patrick please log onto
