Round Two Underway for Killington Snowmakers

KILLINGTON, Vt. Mar. 9, 2004 – In an unprecedented move to keep snow conditions in mid-winter form for several more months, Killington Resort is taking the offensive by firing up the most extensive snowmaking system in North America to an extent typically only seen during the early season.

“We have never made this much snow in this many different places at this time of year,” said Dave Lacombe, snow surfaces manager for Killington. “Killington is known as the king of spring. This year we’ll live up to it and then some. From Snowdon Mountain to the Skyeship Base and Killington Peak to Snowshed, we’re laying down the good stuff.”

Skiers and riders are being offered a special $229 March into Spring Pass that is valid every day of the week until the end of the season, which lasts through the month of May at Killington. The $229 March into Spring Pass is valid at all of American Skiing Company’s eastern resorts including Killington, Pico, and Mount Snow in Vt., Attitash Bear Peak in N.H., and Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA in Maine.

In addition to this year’s unprecedented snowmaking surge, Killington typically receives over six feet of natural snow after March 1st each season.
