Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. Oct, 29 2004 (Aspen Release)–Just in time for the premiere of the latest Warren Miller ski movie, “Impact,” snow hit Apsen like a Hollywood movie star shuffling down the “white” carpet, leaving up to nine inches on the area’s mountains-Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk.

Tonight, Aspen/Snowmass will host a screening of Warren Miller’s latest ski movie, “Impact” featuring Aspen/Snowmass athletes Chris Davenport, Max Mancini, Michael Olenick, and the newest ski sensation, five year old, Bridger Gile. Snowmass will be in the spotlight in the film that highlights the newly opened terrain in the Burnside Cliffs area.

Mike Kaplan, Senior Vice President of Mountain Operation for Aspen Skiing Company, says, “This storm really came through for us. We got up to nine inches on top and we now have more than 20 inches on the ground up there. Temperatures are expected to remain cold and there’s more snow in the forecast for this weekend.”

The early snow lends inspiration to start waxing the boards for skiers and snowboarders alike. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass open on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25. Aspen Mountain opens with the FIS Women’s Alpine World Cup races Nov. 26-28. Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk will open on Saturday, December 11, 2004.

Aspen Skiing Company operates the four mountains in the Aspen/Snowmass area – Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk – as well as the award-winning Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen. The area offers unparalleled nightlife and off-slope activities as well. Aspen/Snowmass is accessible by two of the most convenient airports in the mountains – Aspen Sardy Field (ASE) (3 miles from Aspen) and Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) (70 miles from Aspen).
