“Ski Squaw Valley’s legendary KT-22 chair then don a baby-blue velour tux and join 600 of your best pals for the Squaw Valley Prom disco bash…”
-Outside Magazine

Squaw Valley USA- January 25, 2008 – In the spring of 2005, the Squaw Valley community banded together to throw a prom — not a high school prom, a ski town prom in which all proceeds went to charity. Three years and three Proms later, the Squaw Valley Prom is recognized as one the premier ski town bashes in the country. Order up the corsages, make a hair appointment, and find a date because the 4th Annual Squaw Valley Prom, “Enchantment Under KT, is on again this year! The legendary event will go down at Squaw Valley’s Plaza Bar on Saturday March 8, 2008. Tickets are on sale now at squawvalleyprom.com .

Heralded as “… the social event of the year in the Lake Tahoe Region…” by SKI Magazine, the Squaw Valley Prom is a full fledged bash. As with all proms, fashion is a critical element of a successful event and Squaw Valley’s prom theme is 70’s and 80’s formal, so gentlemen, dust off your powder blue suit and ladies, lace is in.

Tickets are $50 per couple and $100 for those who prefer to ‘go stag’. The proceeds from the Squaw Valley Prom will benefit a fitting scholarship at CHARITYSMITH, the Duke Peterson Memorial Fund which helps kids afford to train on the Freestyle Team at Squaw Valley USA. This memorial scholarship, one of over 20 that CHARITYSMITH offers, exists in memory of Duke Peterson, the former Director of the Squaw Valley Freestyle Team. Duke is remembered throughout the freestyle industry as a beloved skier and coach who touched the lives of many through his skiing career.

Of the Squaw Valley Prom, the event’s founder and CHARITYSMITH President Brooks H. Rohlen, MD exclaims “This party, in memory of those who have passed on, celebrates what we all love about the human experience… skiing, friendship, Saturday nights, and velour. “

“… the most outrageous party this building has seen in the past decade, at least. Simply out of control…” -Tom O’Neill, 20 year party-thrower and owner of Squaw Valley’s Plaza Bar.

“This year the hype is greater than ever, people are even coming in from Europe for this thing. How ridiculous is that? Then again, we all hate to miss a good ski town party…”-Brooks H. Rohlen, MD
