VAIL, Colo. Nov. 28, 2004 – To the delight of skiers and snowboarders, Mother Nature pounded the Colorado Rockies with a holiday storm. Beaver Creek was blanketed with 10 inches overnight and another five inches fell during the day on Sunday. Vail Ski Resort awoke to nine inches of fresh snow overnight and by 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, an additional four inches accumulated at mid-mountain. Beaver Creek and Vail have respectively received 31 and 28 inches of snow at mid-mountain in the past 72 hours. Breckenridge and Keystone in Summit County also received powder accumulations from this storm.

Snowmaking and grooming crews have taken advantage of the great snows and chilly temperatures, allowing each resort to grow in acreage and terrain. On Monday Vail’s terrain will grow to 750 acres and officials expect to open more terrain later this week.

Snow continues to fall in the Colorado high country today with the National Weather Service calling for more snow tonight and next week.
