OLYMPIC VALLEY, CA – (News Release) – The lifts may have stopped spinning, but the summer time amusement is just about to begin. After a 10-day break, Squaw Valley USA will officially open for summer operations on Saturday June 10, 2006. The summer experience begins in Squaw Valley’s aerial Cable Car as it ascends 2,000 vertical feet to the High Camp Bath & Tennis Club, el. 8,200′, a world above Lake Tahoe. This unique mountain-top facility is the hub of summertime fun at Squaw Valley. Recreation at High Camp includes ice-skating at the Olympic-sized outdoor ice pavilion, swimming and relaxing at the Lagoon & Spa, tennis on one of five scenic courts, and access to miles of hiking trails. High Camp’s Hiking Center, outdoor concerts, and summer festivals are favorites among locals and visitors alike. Summer operations will officially begin on June 10, 2006 and an opening party to kick-off Squaw Valley’s summer excitement will take place in conjunction with Father’s Day on Sunday, June 18.
To celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, June 18, Squaw Valley USA is offering $10 off priced Adult Cable Car Rides and Skate and Swim Packages to fathers, when accompanied by a son or daughter purchasing a ticket. Bring the whole family and treat dad to a special day of music, ice skating, swimming, and lunch at the Poolside Café at High Camp, el. 8200′.
Squaw Valley is celebrating the start of summer (and a special “hats off” to fathers everywhere) with live music by the pool. The local guitar duo, Acoustic Shag, will be performing on the Umbrella Bar deck starting at 1 pm. Whether you want to show your dad how much you love him or simply get into the summer groove, Squaw Valley’s Summer Opening Party is the perfect way to spend your day, with or without your dad.
Discounted tickets are available to dads on Sunday, June 18 only and must be purchased with another full price ticket for a son or daughter in the immediate family. All tickets must be purchased together. To take advantage of this special offer, bring your dad to the ticket window in the Cable Car building.
