Olympic Valley, CA – In an effort to raise money for the Tahoe Forest Hospital’s expansion projects, Squaw Valley Ski Corp and the Tahoe Forest Hospital Foundation will hold the 4th annual Hospital Benefit on the evening of Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Squaw Valley USA’s Olympic Village Lodge.
The rapid rate in which the town of Truckee and the surrounding North Lake Tahoe area is growing has increased the demand for a cutting edge healthcare facility. As a result, Tahoe Forest Hospital is ambitiously upgrading their facilities to meet the rising needs of the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee region.
Tahoe Forest Hospital is currently undergoing an large-scale upgrade to their facilities which includes the addition of two new operating rooms, the construction of a 47,000 square foot West Wing, housing an updated Medical/Surgical Unit, ICU, a Women and Family Center, a new Outpatient Medical Center, and the remodel of 20,000 square feet of the existing facility.
The event’s committee, comprised of hospital foundation members, physicians and local citizens, have finalized plans for this special celebration that has guests arriving at Olympic Village Lodge for a night of Latin themed merriment and celebration. The evening features an elegant buffet dinner of an eclectic Latin cuisine, Latin inspired music featuring Ivan Najera, wine and dancing. Gala guests are encouraged to dress with a Latin flair to compliment the evening’s Latin theme.
The fundraising portion of the event includes a silent auction and a selective raffle. The selective raffle allows gala-goers to place their raffle tickets in the running specifically for desired prizes. Auction and raffle prizes include adventures, vacation packages, and multi-night stays at hotels and resorts including the Beresford Arms Hotel and Hotel Nikko in San Francisco and the Embassy Suites, the Resort at Squaw Creek, and PlumpJack’s in Lake Tahoe. The raffle will also include season passes and day tickets for Alpine Meadows, Mt Rose, Sugar Bowl, Northstar, and Diamond Peak, as well as wine tours and tastings at vineyards such as Sterling and Cline.
Nancy Wendt, President of Squaw Valley Ski Corp and Co-chairman of the event explains, “The Tahoe Forest Hospital is an integral part of our community and we hope to see many of our friends gather together for some much needed fundraising.
All proceeds will support the Tahoe Forest Hospital Foundation which assists in the hospital’s goals of new construction and equipment upgrades. For more information on the foundation, log on to www.tfhd.com.
