Storm Dumps Foot of Snow on Purgatory Mountain

Purgatory, CO – (News Release) – March came in like a lion for Purgatory Mountain in southwest Colorado. A storm that began late last night has dropped 12 inches of snow on the resort, including 6 inches coming down this morning between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Snow is still falling, and the forecast is calling for another 2-4 inches today. Snow is forecast through the week, with larger accumulations possible Thursday and Friday.

Purgatory Mountain is 99 percent open with a 45 inch mid-mountain base depth and powder conditions. All of the resort’s intermediate and advanced terrain is open, including the Paradise Freestyle Arena and the Pitchfork Terrain Garden, a beginner’s park featuring smaller rails and a mini-halfpipe.

March is the final month of the winter season at Purgatory Mountain with closing day scheduled for April 2nd. During the month of March take advantage of the Slopeside Studio Blowout, including one night lodging and two lift tickets for only $129 per night.
