Jan. 22, 2002–Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Why not take a special someone skiing or snowboarding this Feb. 14th. Although each year a number of couples tie the knot at Loveland, CO, you don’t have to go to such extremes just to have fun with a friend on Valentine’s Day. Here is a list of Valentine’s Day activities at ski areas around the nation:
Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Week The 5th Annual Mardi Gras Party at the Wobbly Barn is sure to be a blast. For Valentine’s Day action there will be couple’s massage clinics, skiing with cupid, giveaways, and live music at the Long Trail Pub in Snowshed.
Okemo and Mount Sunapee

Catamount Ski Area

Loveland Basin and Valley
11th Annual Mountain Top Wedding Ceremony For the 11th year in a row you can get married at the top of Lift #2 in the Ptarmigin Roost Cabin. There is a free reception following the ceremony in Loveland Lodge and couples that pre-register get a 2 for 1 lift ticket. All you need to do is bring a valid marriage license and something to ride down on at the end of the ceremony.
Valentine’s dinner at The Lodge at Sunspot Ride Gondolas to Winter Park’s summit at 10,700 feet and have dinner with champagne. In addition, The Grand Victorian, Wild Horse Inn, Outpost Inn, Woodspur Lodge, Gasthaus Eichler, Arapahoe Lodge and Timber House Ski Lodge are all offering special Valentine’s Day rates.

Valentine’s Couples Race In a FREE race, men and women race each other down the Upper Main Street trail in a dual slalom. The couple with the lowest combined time wins a $50 dinner for two at the Timbercreek restaurant. Race starts at 11am.
