Telluride Offers Summer Jet Service

TELLURIDE, Colo. — The Telluride/Montrose Regional Air Organization (TMRAO) and Continental Airlines today announced summer jet service from Montrose, Colorado (serving the Telluride region) to Houston, Texas. The 50 seat regional jet service runs May 26-October 9, 2005. The air service ramps up with a second daily flight beginning June 9-Spetember 5, 2005.The added service benefits both locals traveling for summer vacation and visitors to the Telluride region.

“Increasing seats during the summer months was our #1 priority based on last year’s performance, said Tom Hess, President/Chairman of the TMRAO. “Matching accessibility to demand is crucial to our economic sustainability.

The air organization has worked diligently on increasing summer air service from the Telluride region. In addition to the two flights on Continental, America West Express serves Telluride to Phoenix on a 37 seat turbo prop daily. The America West service runs May 23-Sept. 19, 2005. United Express continues to fly up to six daily flights from Montrose to Denver on a 30 seat turbo prop throughout the summer, and Great Lakes continues to fly up to seven flights daily from Telluride to Denver on their 19 seat turbo prop.
