Ascutney, NH, Oct. 2, 2000–As part of Ascutney Mountain Resort’s new 3rd Grade Pass Program, Vermont and New Hampshire third graders will receive an early Christmas present: a free unlimited season pass to Ascutney for the 2000-2001 season.

“We developed the program for many reasons, but mainly to generate excitement among our youth about skiing, snowboarding and enjoying the outdoor environment,” said Steve Plausteiner, Ascutney owner and president.

Principals at all elementary schools in the two states received an information packet in early September explaining the program. They’ve been asked to send third grade class lists to the resort. In turn, the resort will keep these lists on file and third graders may pick up their pass on or after November 15 at the Ascutney Season Pass Office located in the main hotel. A parent or guardian must sign a release form for the student to receive the pass.

“We hope parents take advantage of this incredible program,” said Plausteiner. “Those of us dedicated to the ski industry believe that these children are the future of skiing. Our hope is that all children can share and participate in skiing and snowboarding with their family and friends.”
