GRAB THE WIVES AND HEAD FOR THE HILLS!
It may look like a snapshot from Kabul, but the bombed-out home of Scott Connor is actually in Pleasant Grove, Utah. This past March, during a routine avalanche-control session near Sundance Ski Resort, the Utah Department of Transportation shot a round from a 105-millimeter Howitzer and missed-
by almost three miles
. The shell exploded on impact, blasting out a six-foot-wide crater and laying waste to the Connors’ storage shed. Shrapnel also ripped its way into his home. “The detective asked me if I had any enemies,” says Connor. “I told him, ‘None that we’re aware of. We have no problem with neighbors.'”
