Todd Ligare is back with a new POV edit, Skipping Stones. Ligare spent five days skinning from a hut in the Golden, British Columbia backcountry, where he found plenty of snow and pillows galore.
The Park City native grew up chasing gates before joining the University of Denver ski racing team in the early 2000s; the Pioneers won seven championships in ten years from 2000-2010.
Now, Ligare is one of the best freeriders on the planet, trading out the GS skis for some powder boards and the hardback for some fresh snow. Ligare is known now for skiing big, gnarly lines at high speeds, often documented and displayed in Teton Gravity Research films.
The skiing is accompanied by the music of Canadian rap group “Swollen Members,” who have seen their music used in many iconic freeski parts like this one from Tanner Hall.
