Former U.S. Ski Team mogul master Troy Murphy trades skinny skis for snowmobiles in his first big mountain edit.

After a number of years smashing icy bumps and hard landings, Troy Murphy has retired from the FIS Freestyle World Cup tour and will now focus on big mountain skiing, specifically the Alaskan variety. Given the lines he puts down in his first video release this season, called Two Aprils in Alaska, we can’t blame him.
The 26-year-old athlete who started skiing in Sugarloaf, Maine, had his highest finish of his career in 2017 during a FIS Freestyle World Cup event in Thaiwoo, China. But, after spending the last two springs in AK and appearing in the award-winning ski flick Strictly Business, Murphy has committed his career to big mountain skiing for the foreseeable future. And we can’t wait to see where his career goes from here.
